Summary
In 40 overweight or obese adults, 8 weeks of cycling HIIT plus whole-body vibration recovery and a hypocaloric diet reduced body fat percentage, triglycerides, and total cholesterol. HIIT plus diet without vibration and diet alone did not show the same significant lipid or body-fat changes.
Methodology
- Sedentary overweight or obese adults without diabetes or advanced cardiovascular, renal, or hepatic disease.
- 40 participants.
- Cycle ergometer with WBV recovery.
- Work intervals: 1 minute.
- Recovery: 2 minutes total; HIITWBV included 1 minute vibration during recovery.
- Intensity: 90% HRpeak.
- Variable with progression; ended with 5-minute cool-down.
