Effects of beta-alanine supplementation and high-intensity interval training on endurance performance and body composition in men; a double-blind trial

Question

Does beta-alanine supplementation enhance the endurance-performance and body-composition adaptations to six weeks of cycling HIIT in recreationally active college-aged men?

Summary

In recreationally active young men, six weeks of supervised cycling HIIT improved aerobic performance and total work. Beta-alanine appeared to add benefit in the second half of training for VO2peak, time to exhaustion, total work, and lean body mass, but the evidence mixes HIIT with a sports supplement.

Methodology
